Since its inception, Simon Contractors has completed projects in most states west of the Mississippi River. In February 2000, Simon Contractors acquired Ogallala Ready-Mix in Ogallala, Nebraska. Under Simon Contractors, Ogallala Ready-Mix has continued to flourish as a concrete products contractor and supplier in the Ogallala area and across the state of Nebraska.

REGIONAL SAFETY MANAGER

Summary: Supports the Safety Director in the ongoing development and maintenance of safety and environmental programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned:
Assist in maintaining safety guidelines, procedures, and policies.
Able to effectively communicate both safety and environmental training topics.
Assists the Safety Director with accident management and prevention.
Maintain and file documentation needed for reporting to controlling agencies.
Able to interpret environmental permit requirements.
Travel to off-site locations to conduct safety inspections and perform training
Report safety and environmental issues to the Safety Director.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health or similar preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction safety.
Knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and EPA rules and regulations required.
Basic computer skills including Excel and Word
Certification or ability to become certified in OSHA30, OSHA 500 Train the Trainers, 510 OSHA training, fall protection, Excavation, Flagger, Confined Space, Scaffold, Crane Safety, Lock Out/ Tag Out training required.
Valid driver's license and clean driving history required
The employee must occasionally lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
